1. Combine the white vinegar(1 cup), water(1 cup), smashed garlic(2 cloves), sugar(2 tbsp), and salt(1 tbsp) in a medium pot and bring to a boil. Add thinly sliced jalapeños(8), stir, and remove from heat.
2. Let sit for at least 8 minutes then use tongs to remove the jalapeños from the pot; cover with the brining liquid to fill the jar.
